Challenge:
Create an audio experience that lets the world know that Spotify is now the go-to destination for audiobooks.

Insight:
According to the National Assessment of Educational Progress, one-third of U.S. students read at or above the proficient level, with two-thirds reading below the level required for grade-level work.

With only one-third of U.S. students reading at a proficient level, there's a pressing need to improve literacy. Spotify aims to help bridge this gap with Spotify Audiobooks, offering a new way for students to engage with reading. To highlight this, we created the 'Listening is Fundamental' campaign.

On World Reading Day, Spotify’s biggest artists will take over PA announcements in the most impacted school districts, encouraging students to listen to audiobooks on Spotify by sharing personalized audiobook recommendations, sharing their personal experience with reading, and how books in all shapes and sizes, has fueled their creativity. Each student will recieve a year of Spotify premium so they can rediscovery their love for books, one story at a time.
